About us

A law clinic is an university education concept that offers students the opportunity to apply their legal knowledge in practice and to develop important key competencies. The consulting association also offers socially disadvantaged groups in our society access to legal advice.

The Refugee Law Clinic Siegen e.V. is mainly aimed at refugees and immigrants. The main task of the students is listening to the peoples need, to explain the German legal system and the rights of everybody. Students are trained in asylum as well as in residence law and they are also accompanied during the consultation by fully qualified lawyers.
Legal representation does not take place.

Our history

The Refugee Law Clinic Siegen was found by Prof. Dr. Jörn Griebel and Jan Haas in the summer semester 2018 at the Institution of Public Law and International Business Law of the University of Siegen.
In the meantime it has acquired its own legal personality as a non-profit, registered association and is managed by a student board of directors.
